Modern Warfare 2 PC - $60.00...

How do you guys feel about the price for Modern Warfare 2 being $60.00 for PC. I thought the $60.00 price was extremely rare for an FPS PC game and I was correct.

So I did what I normally do when prices for FPS games seem weird. I went to Gamestop and sorted by price for FPS games. What do you know Modern Warefare 2 is the highest price FPS Game you can get at Gamestop currently.

http://www.gamestop.com/Browse/Search.aspx?Ns=Price|1&N=140+101

Modern Warefare 2 Hardened Edition
$79.99

Modern Warefare 2
$59.99

Will you be picking up WAW2 when it hits the release date? There have been many reasons for the above the normal price found around the internet, but as a consumer what are your thoughts?

Don't buy any COD any more. I've played the series since it first came out. Everything worked fine until WaW. They screwed the pooch on it, never fixed it. I've tried all thier tips and tricks...almost completely rebuilt my system...numourous reformats and installs...emails to thier support, to the point that they no longer answer...and the piece of crap still doesn't work. I finally got to load the game...after 2 patches...which came out shortly after the release, only to find there is no audio...
They're starting to do what they did in the early 80's, which almost completely destroy the vidoe game business. Ask Activision about thier E.T. game...they have a conniption fit. Destroy all thing Treyarch
Don't support crap!
(this is a toned down version of the original. I had expletives all through this.)
If you pay for something that doesn't work, you would expect to be able to get your money back. I even had ther reciept and they wouldn't give me my money back. Don't support this series any more.

Okay I've said my bit.

Probably won't be buying, since my computer is now, oh, 4-5 years old and won't be able to run it. Maybe on X360.

60$ for a game built under the same engine than MW? I don't have a problem with a 60$ tag, but not for a game that looks 0% innovation from the previous. GFX look the same, haven't seen destructible environments and what new stuff could they add to their multiplayer?

death to COD

Yeah I may do XBOX 360, but idk. There's not much replay value in the overly scripted linear single player. And the multiplayer never appealed to me as much as it did to some people. I'll have to see if it's another full auto sprayfest.

Tried multiplayer on COD 3 last night. What a joke. Spawn camping galore! At least in "Battle" mode. Maybe "War" is better, but didn't seem like anyone was playing.

I'm slow to adopt the COD games mostly because the single player has extremely limited replay value. Still, for $10-15 at Gamestop, they're usually worth it. COD 4, however, is still $40 so forget that.

What about the Prestige Edition for the 360 and PS3 for $150?
The Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition comes with:
  • Steel book with metallic finish
  • Artbook
  • Token to download the original Call of Duty
  • Night Vision Goggles that is capable of seeing up to 50 feet
  • Collector's stand to hold your goggles that is individually numbered.
I think they playing on the hipe to make as much money as they can. Yes I think $60 is a bit much for a PC game, and $150 is WAY to much.

Infinity Ward did a good job on the 4th one, so I may pick it up, dontknow yet. I am gona wait a see what features it has first, like how many players, maps, and game modes for multiplayer.

Yeah, P.T. Barnum comes to mind on that one...

I bought the "Special edition" version of Ace Combat 6, but that's because it came with a friggin' joystick and throttle, both of which I can use on my home PC.
