FH2 on Win7
I have the home premium version installed but I also have the professional version on a disk.
I just installed BF2, patch 1.41 and 1.5 like I would on XP Then I moved forward with 2.2 and the 2.25 patch But after I install 2.2 I get a warning that it may of installed wrong and be in the wrong version of windows. Should I move over the the Win7 Pro and use the emulator? Ideally I would like to run it native on Win7 |

I dont know but isn't there often a warning saying it's installed wrong? (and the devs said to just ignore it and click okay/ignore)
I know I get errors in vista 64, it may not be about win7 but just that FH2 gets a fake error on install. Not sure.

Got it working with Run as administrator. With everything on high it is like a totally different game. Buildings used to be monotonic light inside, now with the shadows its a stark contrast

I run on windows 7 64 bit, with no emulator, and without the admin setting. The only error I get is every time I close the game it says it can't move a file and also opens the crash report for FH2. I would rather deal with that minor error then give a game admin privileges.

Glad you got it working! That's of course dx10 and your card main it a new game and not win7..
Choltz I get that error too, my impression was that most got it. I know Lobo does too. what are the cons of giving a game admin priv?

I'm Win 7 64 bit as well (Ulitmate). I've tried both native and emulation - haven't noticed any difference.
My only issues are with my mic and Logitech G11 keyboard - both work fine otherwise, but I can't use the macro function gaming keys or the mic in an FH game environment. Not a big issue, but if anyone can get a mic to work in FH2 with Win 7 64 I'd like to hear about it... edit... oh, I'm pretty sure I had the same error message on installing FH. I also remember getting an "error" message that BF2 had only been tested on 32 bit versions of windows.

I'm windows 7 x64 and have had no problems with any games, except stuff running through steam, but I run those through compatability mode and they work.

BF2 is not windows 7 certified but, (that's according to EA games), it does work. I can still play all my steam stuff, too. I only have problems with the original Far Cry...and that's my fancy shmancy audio card. p.s. Wings of Prey and Borderlands both rock! ![]() and work on win7...go DX10. ...(I'm in denial about DX11)Okay...that's enough emoticons for today.

If it didn't work without admin privileges I would allow it, worth the risk to play FH2! :) |
